Hog and Lamb Roast

Frequently Asked Questions

How many people can you cater for?

There really are no limits in terms of numbers of people, once we have an idea of how many you have in mind, we can look at a price bespoke to you.

How long does it take to set up?

We cook the hog from home, in order to cut down the time on location with you. We then transport the hog, and cook it for the last hour whilst we are setting up on location.  We find that once we are there and people are getting hungry, they don’t want to wait too long!

Do you provide cutlery?

Yes - we provide all cutlery requirements.  We can also provide additional catering needs such as coffee cups/saucers, everything is available on request.

Are there different dessert options available?

Yes - A variety of desserts are available to choose from when booking your event.  Desserts can range from Gateaux’s and cakes, to a very popular Cheese Board.  Please enquire direct for specific dessert requests.

Is the menu a set menu, or bespoke per event?

The choice is yours!  We can offer our standard menus, or bespoke to your own preferences.  It really is up to your own personal preference.

Do you cook the pig yourself?

Yes – We cook the hog in our premises, transport the hog, and then finish the final hour of cooking whilst setting up on location.  We carve, serve, clean up and tidy, leaving it stress free for the host!

How do we pay?

A deposit is agreed and required in order to secure the date.  The balance is then to be paid (with payment cleared) one week prior to the event taking place, depending on the event size.  Payment can be made by cheque (clearance required one week prior to the event), by cash or by BACS transfer.  No credit card payments are accepted.

What if my numbers change?

Not a problem!  Final numbers are agreed two weeks prior to the event taking place.  Most events are catered for per head, so if there is an increase in numbers there will be an increase in the final amount.

How long will you be on site before serving the food?

Normally 1-1.5 hours before food starts being served.   The hog is cooked prior to our arrival, and the final hour or so of cooking is whilst we set everything up at the event location.

Is gas included in your prices?

Yes - once a price has been agreed and paid up front, there are no hidden costs, whatsoever.

What delivery area do you cover?

We are based in Hampshire, however we cover the South Coast of England.  We cover further afield, by appointment – Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
